For our client, The International Skating Union (ISU), we are currently searching for a Safeguarding Officer & Anti-Doping Education Coordinator 100% for a permament position, to contribute to the important area of protecting athletes and reinforcing Clean Sport in Ice Skating The International Skating Union (ISU) based in Lausanne. Founded in 1892, the ISU is the oldest governing international winter sport federation and the exclusive international sport federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) administering the sports of Figure Skating, Synchronized Skating, Speed Skating and Short Track Speed Skating worldwide..
Your mission:
- A person with a solid background in education and some knowledge of safeguarding strategies capable to deliver high-quality education through seminars and courses.
- Safeguarding Officer:
- You will be responsible to implement and develop the ISU Safeguarding Policy within the ISU and to liaise with the ISU National Federations to provide guidance for their own Policy.
- – Implement the ISU Safeguarding Policy by:
- • Providing education for Athletes, Coaches, Entourage etc.
- • Supporting ISU Members to establish Safeguarding policies
- • Responding to reports and following up cases in cooperation with
- – Act as liaison for SAYES (Erasmus+) project (running to end 2024) and any follow-up activities
- – Act as liaison with external Safe Sport bodies
- Anti-Doping Education Coordinator:
- You will be responsible to conduct and improve the ISU Anti-Doping Education Strategy in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Agency’s International Standard for Education.
- – Understand and implement the WADA International Standard Education
- – Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the ISU Anti-Doping plan
- – Create content for the Pure as Ice Education Program
- – Manage the ISU eLearning Anti-Doping education course
- – Support the Pure as Ice outreach program at ISU Events
- Assist the Anti-Doping Department in its day-to-day tasks
Must have:
- – University Master’s Degree or equivalent in an area related to Education, Sports Studies, or related field
- – At least 5 years’ prior professional experience working in an education & training / learning role and/or experience in working in a safeguarding post
- – Already completed, or be available to complete, the IOC Safeguarding Officer Course (September 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024 – 250 part-time study hours covering 7 modules)
- – Relevant prior professional experience in designing, delivering and evaluating education or learning programmes (online, classroom based or blended)
- – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a mature and empathetic manner to build positive relationships with key stakeholders at all levels, including children and young people
- – Relevant knowledge and strong interest in a sports-related environment
- – Ability to produce reports and written material to a high standard
- – Good organizational, planning, and time management skills
- – Strong team worker but can also work independently and without supervision and works well under pressure
- – Due to the nature of the work, weekend and evening working may be required. A willingness to travel is essential
- – Ability to be discrete and effectively handle sensitive, confidential issues as required
- – Excellent computer skills
- Desirable:
- – Relevant experience in safeguarding investigations, social care, or another safeguarding environment
- – Understanding and experience of working in anti-doping
- – Knowledge of best practice, emerging trends and new technologies in the area of education, training, learning and development
- – Some legal experience
- Required Languages:
- – A good level of English is required (CEFRL level C1)
- – French speaking is an advantage
- – Other languages an asset
